About a month ago, I started my first garden. Truth is, I hardly knew what I was doing, and if you’re familiar with gardening, you’d probably laugh at what I’m about to tell you. I went and bought some seeds from a local hardware store, planted them and watered them. A few weeks passed and nothing was growing as well as I’d hoped. I mean, I tried everything I could think of to fix this problem. Finally, I said to myself, “Okay, that’s it. I need help!” I called a friend of mine and asked for a little advice. They recommended I try hydrated lime to lower the acidity. I couldn’t believe it. I pass that stuff every time I go to the hardware store! I definitely took their advice and sprinkled some over freshly planted seeds. It worked out perfectly in no time!
The time was five to midnight. I sat at the table, looking out at the waterfront and feeling absolutely miserable. I had spent the last month dreaming about this very moment, picturing in my head every possibility. But I had never pictured this. My tea was mostly finished, the condensation running down the glass and making a puddle on the wood. I looked down at my watch. Exactly one minute until midnight. My reflection in the water was shaky with the tumultuous waves. Suddenly, the other diners erupted into a countdown. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. I saw the blurred reflection of the fireworks displays above me. I stood up from the table, shaky.
“Peter?” a voice said behind me.
Turning, I saw her. She was radiating grace and beauty, her eyes sadly sparkling in a silent apology. I went to her and embraced her, joyous as the fireworks above.
They sold their house in the city and moved to the rolling hills of Kentucky. After forty years of living in the city they weren’t sure of what to expect. The new place was nice, but vastly different from what they were used to, after all they were “city folk”.
Their new home sat in the middle of a 40 acre track of land and was pretty secluded. Not like the old place where they had to put blinds Manchester on the windows to keep the neighbors from peering in. The new place was quite remote and was a bit of a fixer upper but with some work it would do nicely.
One morning as they were enjoying their morning coffee, they looked outside and noticed a family of turkeys on a morning stroll. This was home, they thought as they got to look at life through a different window.
I had a lawn care business, and it was so hard trimming those bushes without the right customers to hire me. I hated cutting the bushes for so little money. I had to do something fast to get my business going in the right direction. I needed more customers so I hired a cheap seo company. This cheap company was a great way for me to make a little money on the side. There were a ton of extra new customers that came in as a result of me hiring this company. My fortunes were turned upward when I found this company and discovered what they could do for me. I started getting a whole lot of new customers, and I didn’t even have to work for them. I discovered them right away, and it was easy to find them. There were a whole lot of customers that were coming in from all angles of the web out there.
I’ve always wanted to live on the beach. The sound of the ocean, the scent of sea salt, and the feeling of sand in my toes are some of the greatest pleasures I’ve ever experienced. Unfortunately, my life in mid-west America prevents me from pursuing this dream.
Recently, I got the idea to create a makeshift beach in my backyard. My wife and I agreed that this would be a fun project to do with the kids and a nice luxury to enjoy when we have time to relax. To make my vision a reality, I called the local silica sand suppliers, built a large wooden box to contain the sand, and purchased beach-themed furniture and toys.
When the project was finished, we were very happy with the results. Now we have luau-themed beach parties in the backyard and it’s almost as if our house is just a few feet away from the shore.
Internet dating is something I laugh at after my sister recently hooked up with several men one after the other from her current dating website she signed up for in hopes she would find true love. To her surprise and not to mine she did not find any kind of man that even would resemble the picture perfect true love she had imagined in her head since she was a young child. Instead, she ended up meeting up with men she didn’t even recognize at all due to the fake profiles the placed up on the dating site she responded to. Unfortunately, she has not learned her lesson and is still searching for true love online and I continue to laugh at each dating story she tells me about and especially the one where she met up with a man who was older than our dad was and his teeth fell out when he sneezed before leaning in for a hug.
